To study the Enneagram is to study the various patterns of Ego structures. Our egos are both a blessing and a curse. We are given talents and perspectives that allow us to contribute to the world in big and small ways, and yet these same perspectives limit us and restrict connection with ourselves and others.

Each of the 9 ego structures—the EnneaTypes—include a particular Passion. Think of them as each Type’s favorite way of behaving badly. If we do not strive to be awake and present in our lives, then we allow our ego to run the show, and we are much more likely to exhibit these kinds of behaviors.

In this month’s class we will offer a safe place to thoughtfully examine the ego constructs of the 9 EnneaTypes and how these dynamics set us up to blindly turn to destructive behavior. As we learn to be present and awake to ourselves, we are able to avoid becoming triggered, and thereby live in a state of active harmony.

About the presenter: Candice Thomas, L.Ac. is an integrative acupuncturist who uses the Enneagram in her practice. She believes it is the best way to access the spirit in mind-body-spirit medicine. She employs a storytelling style of case studies and group interaction to offer illumination about how these ego structures play out in real life.  Learn more about her at www.LightWorksAcupuncture.com
