Enneagram Class: The Value of Values

DATE: Wednesday, June 26, 2019
 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
COST: A $10.00 donation is requested, or any amount that meets your means.
LOCATION: The Conference Center at Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation Building
3182 N. Swan Road, Tucson, AZ  85712

This Month’s Topic: The Value of Values.  Values are the guiding principles by which we live or, at least, they are aspirations that help us align our actions with our principles. Without values, we would be living in an immoral or amoral world of interpersonal confusion and existential chaos. At the same time, too strong an adherence to our values can create a counter-effect of personal and interpersonal difficulties. And too strong an identification with these values rigidly retains our type structures in place, thus inhibiting our growth potential. Please join us for a very interactive session, including a “panel of Type experts” from whom you’ll learn even more about the cherished values of each Enneagram style.

This Month’s Teacher: Sandy Hogan, PCC. Accredited Enneagram Professional through the IEA, Certified Enneagram in Business Coach, and Co-founder of the Enneagram Enthusiasts group that’s been active since 2011. Sandy is a Professional Certified Coach and Certified Integral Coach in private practice since 2000. She works with individuals, teams and organizations, using the wisdom of the Enneagram with each client as the basis for successful outcomes in their customized coaching programs. Visit her at LightWorksAcupuncture.com and MySelf-MyHealth.com.

Enneagram Meeting: The Idealized Self-Image

DATE: Wednesday, May 22, 2019
 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
COST: A $10.00 donation is requested (or any amount that meets your means), to cover room rent and materials,
LOCATION: The Conference Center at Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation Building
3182 N. Swan Road, Tucson, AZ  85712. Near the corner of Swan and Camp Lowell, in the SE Corner of Village Offices entrance.

This Month’s Topic:

We begin life with a pretty solid sense of what we value – even if not in so many words. Then, life happens… and we learn to avoid things that hurt, defend ourselves against unpleasant circumstances (and people!), and we settle for a version of ourselves which is more like a smudged mimeograph copy than an original.

In this session, we will identify our Idealized self-images, explore the impact that staying there has on our life and relationships, restricting and compromising our healthy self. How we tend to use these as our “mission statement” urging others to “see the light” and be more like us. This awareness is crucial to relaxing these concepts and returning to our healthier self.

See you there!

Presenter: We are happy to have Kathryn Grant join us again as a guest instructor. She is a former board member of the Arizona Enneagram Association. She holds the credentials of Certified Enneagram Instructor, and Accredited Professional with the International Enneagram Association. Having studied and taught the Enneagram since 1994, Kathryn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her teaching and consulting. She enjoys incorporating story and myth to help illuminate the Enneagram’s profound wisdom.

Location: Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation, 3182 N. Swan Rd. Tucson, AZn 85712

Meeting Topic

The Enneagram and Social Intimacy:  Social intimacy definitely plays a part in the complicated mind-body connection that helps people cope better and improve their quality of life.  It is now well accepted that people who have close, supportive relationships with others are generally healthier, both physically and emotionally, and cope better with stress. People who have low levels of social intimacy are prone to higher levels of emotional disturbance, especially when they experience many negative life-changing events or few positive ones. It has been proven that life-affirming relationships and interactions undeniably have a positive effect on our overall health and happiness. Please join us for a lively and interactive session in which we’ll explore the five levels of intimacy (into-me-you-see) and discover how our Enneagram Type and subtype/instinctual variant might be at play in establishing and maintaining healthy levels of intimacy in both personal and professional relationships in which we can feel emotionally supported, valued, and respected.

About the Presenter: As a Certified Integral Coach, Sandy Hogan is one of the most respected integrative life coaches in the country. She helps clients revamp the stressful paradigms in their lives so that health and multi-dimensional wellness can take center stage. She has partnered and trained with some of the country’s most innovative leaders, such as Integrative Medicine guru, Dr. Andrew Weil, and the legendary Enneagram founders Don Riso & Russ Hudson. Known nationally for her work in community outreach and education, she is in demand as a coach, speaker and educator. A gentle sage, Sandy evokes of others the highest in themselves.

Enneagram Class: The Wisdom of the Wings

DATE: December 12, 2018

TIME: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

LOCATION: Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation, 3182 N. Swan Rd., Tucson, AZ 85712

COST: Suggested donation $10

THIS MONTH’S MEETING TOPIC:  The Wisdom of the Wings – Come Fly with Me

The Enneagram styles that reside on either side of our home style, are commonly known as “wings.”  Some Enneagram teachers teach that we have one wing, some two, others dismiss the theory completely.

In this session, we will explore some interesting perspectives on our wing neighbors.  We can be supported by the strength that lies within our wings. We can also be tossed around by the shadow stuff we have stored there.  This session will discover how we are held in the stretch between our wings:

  1. How our wings define the clockwise and counter-clockwise edges of who and how we are.
  2. How we get “stuck” in one way of coping – when there is so much more we can access.

We will look in both directions and move about the symbol to experience the sense of potentials and possibilities.  Since each style sets up the next, our wings are interacting with us and our neighbors one or more styles away.

Two wings are necessary to take off. To soar. To land. This session will help us identify the strengths of our wings and learn to access those strengths for “ease of flight.”

PRESENTER:   Kathryn Grant is a Certified Enneagram Instructor and Associate in Jerome Wagner’s Enneagram Spectrum Program. She is also an International Enneagram Association Accredited Professional, and Life Coach.  She holds degrees from University of Illinois, Urbana, IL and Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL.  She currently lives in Cave Creek. Kathryn serves on the Board of Directors of the IEA and is a board member-elect of the Arizona Enneagram Association.  She uses story to enhance learning experience.

THIS MONTH’S MEETING TOPIC:  What Gets in the Way on Our Journey to Wholeness?

The Enneagram teachings allow us to access patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving for each of our types. Oftentimes, these deeply-held patterns which have been formed early in life become our sole strategy to manage our existence. As we attempt to grow and change, we may recognize that these patterns seem to keep us stuck. During this session, we will examine how each type has distinct patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that get in the way on our journey to wellness.

PRESENTER:   Renee SiegelMA, LISAC, MAC, ICGC-II, BACC, LMT, HHP, Accredited Enneagram Professional. Renee will be our special guest speaker from Phoenix this month. She is a past board member of the Arizona Enneagram Association who believes that “partnering with you in wellness” is what works to empower those seeking change! Awareness Balance and Connection is the secret formula to anchoring lifestyle changes. And the enneagram is central to her practice: it is a map for growing self-awareness, finding balance and re-establishing connection with self and others in your life. She maintains a small private practice, teaches around the world and has just launched Pure Potential Retreats for women.

This month’s topic —  The Secret to Manifesting Your Desires: The Enneagram and the Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction states that we are human magnets, who attract to us that which occupies our thoughts and feelings. Whether we mean to or not, we invite into our lives what we focus on. There is a very specific state of mind we must embrace in order to attract to ourselves only the things we truly want.

Meanwhile, according to the Enneagram there are 9 kinds of people—each with different ego structures that prompt thoughts and feelings of a specific nature. What does this mean, then, for the different types and what they will typically attract?

In this presentation, we will discuss the principles of the Law of Attraction, and how the 9 EnneaTypes must embrace or modify their natural tendencies in order to be in alignment with them. Find out for yourself how you have been succeeding or missing the mark in embracing the power of the universe, and what you can do to create exactly the life you desire.
