Dear Enneagram Enthusiast,

In light of recent health safety concerns, we must cancel our Enneagram meeting, scheduled for March 18.

Additionally, Sandy Hogan’s Celebration of Life is cancelled, which had been scheduled April 1.

How are you? I imagine our Type 6’s and our Self-Preservation members in particular are struggling now with feelings of anxiety. And possibly everyone else, too!

I want to remind you that the strength of your immune system is the combined health of your thoughts/feelings, and your food. There is much you can be doing to support your health—you are not powerless!

The main focus is to keep your inflammation down. Eat fruits and vegetables with the deepest colors–they have the most vitamins and minerals. Avoid sugars, which weaken immunity and disrupt cell function. Embrace this spare time to prepare healthy meals for yourself.

Remind yourself that you are healthy and strong, and you have purpose and love in your life, and all will be well. Take this unexpected down time as a gift, and use it to reconnect with your loved ones and with yourself. Try a guided meditation (there are apps) or an online yoga class (I adore Julia Marie on Amazon Prime). These will help both your body and mind feel centered and powerful.

I look forward to reconnecting with you soon.

Sending love,

Candice Thomas

Enneagram Class: The Value of Values

DATE: Wednesday, June 26, 2019
 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
COST: A $10.00 donation is requested, or any amount that meets your means.
LOCATION: The Conference Center at Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation Building
3182 N. Swan Road, Tucson, AZ  85712

This Month’s Topic: The Value of Values.  Values are the guiding principles by which we live or, at least, they are aspirations that help us align our actions with our principles. Without values, we would be living in an immoral or amoral world of interpersonal confusion and existential chaos. At the same time, too strong an adherence to our values can create a counter-effect of personal and interpersonal difficulties. And too strong an identification with these values rigidly retains our type structures in place, thus inhibiting our growth potential. Please join us for a very interactive session, including a “panel of Type experts” from whom you’ll learn even more about the cherished values of each Enneagram style.

This Month’s Teacher: Sandy Hogan, PCC. Accredited Enneagram Professional through the IEA, Certified Enneagram in Business Coach, and Co-founder of the Enneagram Enthusiasts group that’s been active since 2011. Sandy is a Professional Certified Coach and Certified Integral Coach in private practice since 2000. She works with individuals, teams and organizations, using the wisdom of the Enneagram with each client as the basis for successful outcomes in their customized coaching programs. Enneagram Meeting: The Idealized Self-Image

DATE: Wednesday, May 22, 2019
 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
COST: A $10.00 donation is requested (or any amount that meets your means), to cover room rent and materials,
LOCATION: The Conference Center at Tucson Osteopathic Medical Foundation Building
3182 N. Swan Road, Tucson, AZ  85712. Near the corner of Swan and Camp Lowell, in the SE Corner of Village Offices entrance.

This Month’s Topic:

We begin life with a pretty solid sense of what we value – even if not in so many words. Then, life happens… and we learn to avoid things that hurt, defend ourselves against unpleasant circumstances (and people!), and we settle for a version of ourselves which is more like a smudged mimeograph copy than an original.

In this session, we will identify our Idealized self-images, explore the impact that staying there has on our life and relationships, restricting and compromising our healthy self. How we tend to use these as our “mission statement” urging others to “see the light” and be more like us. This awareness is crucial to relaxing these concepts and returning to our healthier self.

See you there!

Presenter: We are happy to have Kathryn Grant join us again as a guest instructor. She is a former board member of the Arizona Enneagram Association. She holds the credentials of Certified Enneagram Instructor, and Accredited Professional with the International Enneagram Association. Kathryn is also an Associate of Jerry Wagner, Ph.D. and co-facilitates his important work called The Enneagram Spectrum. Having studied and taught the Enneagram since 1994, Kathryn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her teaching and consulting. She enjoys incorporating story and myth to help illuminate the Enneagram’s profound wisdom.

What spiritual methods work best for you? There are many ways to cultivate our spiritual awareness and learn to work with our inner observer. But what would be most effective for you? We all get caught up in our type-specific problems and certain practices may be more helpful than others, depending on our type. Spotting our blind spots is the first action, but then what are ways in which we can let go and begin to create a new habit or option to how we respond to life’s difficulties? Come explore ways to travel your spiritual path.
