THIS MONTH’S MEETING TOPIC: The Enneagram and Intimacy, Part II

(Not to worry, you needn’t have attended Part I – they’re stand-alone topics)

All forms of intimacy definitely play a part in the complicated mind-body connection that helps people cope better and improve their quality of life.  It is now well-accepted that people who have close, supportive relationships with others are generally healthier, both physically and emotionally, and cope better with stress. People who have low levels of intimacy are prone to higher levels of emotional disturbance, especially when they experience many negative life-changing events or few positive ones. It has been proven that life-affirming relationships and interactions undeniably have a positive effect on our overall health and happiness.

Please join us for a lively and interactive session in which we’ll explore how our Enneagram subtype/instinctual variant might be at play in establishing and maintaining healthy levels of intimacy in both personal and professional relationships in which we can feel emotionally safe and free, supported, valued, and respected.

THIS MONTH’S MEETING TOPIC:  The Wisdom of the Wings – Come Fly with Me

The Enneagram styles that reside on either side of our home style, are commonly known as “wings.”  Some Enneagram teachers teach that we have one wing, some two, others dismiss the theory completely.

In this session, we will explore some interesting perspectives on our wing neighbors.  We can be supported by the strength that lies within our wings. We can also be tossed around by the shadow stuff we have stored there.  This session will discover how we are held in the stretch between our wings:

  1. How our wings define the clockwise and counter-clockwise edges of who and how we are.
  2. How we get “stuck” in one way of coping – when there is so much more we can access.

We will look in both directions and move about the symbol to experience the sense of potentials and possibilities.  Since each style sets up the next, our wings are interacting with us and our neighbors one or more styles away.

Two wings are necessary to take off. To soar. To land. This session will help us identify the strengths of our wings and learn to access those strengths for “ease of flight.”

PRESENTER:   Kathryn Grant is a Certified Enneagram Instructor and Associate in Jerome Wagner’s Enneagram Spectrum Program. Kathryn serves on the Board of Directors of the IEA and is a board member-elect of the Arizona Enneagram Association.  She uses story to enhance learning experience.

THIS MONTH’S MEETING TOPIC:  What Gets in the Way on Our Journey to Wholeness?

The Enneagram teachings allow us to access patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving for each of our types. Oftentimes, these deeply-held patterns which have been formed early in life become our sole strategy to manage our existence. As we attempt to grow and change, we may recognize that these patterns seem to keep us stuck. During this session, we will examine how each type has distinct patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that get in the way on our journey to wellness.

PRESENTER:   Renee SiegelMA, LISAC, MAC, ICGC-II, BACC, LMT, HHP, Accredited Enneagram Professional. Renee will be our special guest speaker from Phoenix this month. She is a past board member of the Arizona Enneagram Association who believes that “partnering with you in wellness” is what works to empower those seeking change! Awareness Balance and Connection is the secret formula to anchoring lifestyle changes. And the enneagram is central to her practice: it is a map for growing self-awareness, finding balance and re-establishing connection with self and others in your life. She maintains a small private practice, teaches around the world and has just launched Pure Potential Retreats for women.
